Resize image
Pick a ready size or type the width and height. The image is adjusted in your browser, with no upload.
JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF or HEIC. Up to 20 MB each and 20 at a time.
Your images never leave your device: everything happens in the browser, nothing is uploaded.
How to resize an image in 3 steps
Pick the size
Tap a ready size (Instagram, Stories, square or WhatsApp) or Custom to type the width and height.
Choose your images
Tap Choose images and select one or many. The list shows each one’s new size.
Download
Tap Download image, or Download all to get a .zip.
Changed the size after choosing the images? The tool redoes everything on its own, without picking them again.
Ready sizes
| Size | Dimensions | What happens |
|---|---|---|
| 1080 px wide | The height follows the photo’s proportions | |
| Stories | 1080 × 1920 | Crops the extra edges from the center, if needed |
| Square | 1080 × 1080 | Crops the extra edges from the center, if needed |
| 1600 px on the long side | Only shrinks; a smaller photo stays as it is | |
| Custom | 1 to 10,000 px | With or without the ratio locked |
For Stories, a photo taken with the phone upright loses almost nothing in the crop. A landscape photo loses the sides: if what matters is near the edges, use the Instagram size instead.
Resize or compress?
Resizing changes the width and height: a 4000 × 3000 photo becomes 1080 × 810, for example. That also cuts the file size a lot, because there are far fewer pixels.
Compressing keeps the dimensions and lowers the quality of the JPG or WebP. The two add up: for a very light file, resize first and compress after.
Your image never leaves your device
The resizing is done by your browser, using your device’s memory. The image isn’t uploaded to our server, and nothing is kept. The new file comes out without the photo’s hidden data (EXIF), such as location.
Limits
Up to 20 images at a time, up to 20 MB each, and up to 10,000 px per side. Huge results are scaled down to fit the device’s memory, and the screen tells you.

Frequently asked questions
Which ready sizes are there?
Instagram (1080 px wide, keeping the photo’s proportions), Stories (1080 × 1920), square (1080 × 1080) and WhatsApp (1600 px on the long side). Under Custom, you type the size.
Will my photo be cropped?
Only with the exact sizes, Stories and square, when the photo’s shape is different. Then the extra edges are cropped from the center. Instagram, WhatsApp and Custom with the ratio locked don’t crop anything.
How do I keep the aspect ratio?
Under Custom, keep the lock closed. Change the width and the height follows, and the other way around. With the lock open, the image stretches to fit both sizes.
Can I make a small image bigger?
You can, but it gets less sharp: the pixels are stretched and no new detail appears. The list tells you when the result is bigger than the original.
Does the format change?
No. JPG stays JPG, PNG stays PNG and WebP stays WebP. GIF and HEIC become JPG (or PNG, if they have a transparent background).
What’s the right size for Instagram?
Instagram shows feed photos 1080 px wide. Portrait is 1080 × 1350, square is 1080 × 1080 and Stories are 1080 × 1920. Uploading at the right size avoids surprise crops.
And for WhatsApp?
The ready size of 1600 px on the long side keeps the photo light to send and still sharp on a phone screen. If the photo is already smaller, it stays as it is.
Can I resize several images at once?
Yes. Up to 20 at a time, up to 20 MB each. They all get the same size, and Download all gives you a .zip. The name gets the size at the end, like photo-1080x1350.jpg.
Is the image uploaded to a server?
No. The resizing happens in your browser. The image never leaves your device and nothing is kept.
