How to download Pinterest videos on Android and find them in your gallery

Updated on October 18, 2026

On Android, a video downloaded in Chrome goes to the Download folder in your phone’s storage. Most galleries show that folder as an album, so the video shows up without you doing anything. The same goes for Pinterest images and GIFs.

Pinterest’s Save button is something else: it adds the Pin to one of your boards and doesn’t put any file on your phone. This guide is about having the video on your device.

Before you start

  • Use Chrome, or the browser that came with your phone, like Samsung Internet.
  • Open the site in the browser itself, not inside another app. In-app browsers often block downloads.
  • Download your own videos, or videos for personal use, like a recipe or a tutorial to watch offline.

Step by step in Chrome

  1. In the Pinterest app, open the video Pin, tap Share, then Copy link.
  2. Open Chrome and go to pegapic.com.br.
  3. Tap Paste. The first time, Chrome may ask to let the site see what you copied: tap Allow. If you’d rather not, press and hold the field and choose Paste.
  4. Wait for the Your files list. The video’s resolution and format show under the button.
  5. Tap Download video. Chrome shows the download in a bar at the bottom of the screen or in your notifications.

Done: the video is in the Download folder. The link the Pinterest app copies, with pin.it, works as it is.

Where to find the video

  • In your gallery: look for the Download album. In Google Photos, it’s under Collections > On this device. In Samsung Gallery, it’s in the Albums tab.
  • In Chrome: tap the three dots, then Downloads. The list shows your most recent files.
  • In a file manager: open Files by Google or Samsung’s My Files and go to Downloads.

File names start with pinterest- and the Pin number, so they’re easy to spot in the folder.

Images, GIFs and audio

  • Images: tap Download image. It goes to the same folder and shows up in your gallery. See the Pinterest image downloader.
  • GIFs: tap Download GIF. Some galleries show the GIF still in the grid and only animate it when opened; Google Photos and Chrome show the animation. See the Pinterest GIF downloader.
  • MP3 audio: it stays in the Download folder and plays in your music app or the file manager.

Install the site as an app

In Chrome, tap the three dots, then Install app or Add to Home screen. The site gets an icon, opens without the browser bar and, on many phones, shows up in other apps’ Share menu. Then, in Pinterest, just tap Share and pick PegaPic: the link arrives in the field, ready to go.

Common problems

  • I tapped Download video and nothing happened. You’re probably in an app’s built-in browser. Tap the three dots and choose to open it in Chrome.
  • The screen says the link doesn’t point to a Pin. You copied a board or a profile. Open the Pin and copy its link. See how to copy a Pin link.
  • “The links have expired.” Links last about 15 minutes. Tap Get new links.
  • The video isn’t in my gallery. Some galleries take a while to show new files. Open it from Chrome’s Downloads menu or your file manager.
  • Not enough space. Delete old files from the Download folder or move them to a memory card, if your phone has one.
  • The download stops halfway. It’s almost always the connection. Try on Wi-Fi and get new links.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to install an app?

No. The site works in your browser. Installing it as an app is optional and just creates a shortcut.

Does it work on Android tablets?

Yes, with the same steps in Chrome.

Does the site keep the video I download?

No. The file goes straight to your device, with no copy on our server.

Can I repost the downloaded video?

Only if you have the right to use it, like your own video or one you have the creator’s permission for. Rights holders can ask for a block on the removal page.

For more about the video itself, like quality and what shows in the list, see the Pinterest video downloader.
