LinkedIn banner resizer

Choose an image, drag it to frame the wide strip and download it at the size LinkedIn recommends.

One JPG, PNG, WebP or HEIC photo, up to 20 MB.

Your images never leave your device: everything happens in the browser, nothing is uploaded.

How to make your LinkedIn banner in 3 steps

  1. Choose the image

Tap Choose photo and pick a wide photo, a landscape or artwork with your name and what you do.

  2. Frame it

Drag the image and adjust the zoom. Keep the main content in the center and on the right: your profile picture covers the bottom left corner.

  3. Download and change it on LinkedIn

Tap Download photo and, on your profile, tap the banner’s edit icon to upload the image.

The 4:1 strip is very wide: a regular phone photo loses a lot at the top and bottom. Pick a photo with the subject in the middle, or use Whole photo to crop nothing.

What this tool makes1584 × 396 pixels, as JPG

Company pages use another, even wider size. This page makes the personal profile banner.

What gets hidden

Your profile picture sits on top of the banner, in the bottom left corner, on every screen. On a phone, the banner looks shorter, and the ends of the strip may be left out. So:

  • keep text, faces and logos in the middle of the strip, preferably toward the right;
  • use the bottom left corner only for background (sky, plain color, texture);
  • check it on your phone after changing it.
  • A photo of your work: the project, the kitchen, the office, the team or the city where you work.
  • Simple artwork with text: what you do in a few words, in big letters in the center.
  • Your brand color: a plain-color banner already looks tidier than the default background.

Sizes can change

LinkedIn changes the look of its site and app from time to time. The sizes on this page are the ones from October 2026. If LinkedIn’s help starts recommending another size, check how the banner looks after changing it. PegaPic isn’t affiliated with LinkedIn.

Your image never leaves your device

The image is opened, adjusted and saved in your browser, using your phone’s or computer’s memory. It isn’t uploaded to any server, and nothing is kept. The file comes out without the photo’s hidden data (EXIF), such as location.

One image at a time, up to 20 MB, as JPG, PNG, WebP or HEIC (HEIC only where the browser opens it).

Frequently asked questions

What size is a LinkedIn banner?

On a personal profile, 1584 × 396 pixels, a strip four times wider than it is tall (4:1). LinkedIn accepts JPG or PNG up to 8 MB. This tool makes exactly 1584 × 396, as JPG.

Why does my banner look cropped?

Because each screen shows the banner differently: on a phone it’s shorter and the ends may disappear, and your profile picture covers part of it. Keep the main content in the middle of the strip, away from the edges.

Where does the profile picture cover the banner?

In the bottom left corner. Avoid putting text, faces or logos there: prefer the center and the right.

Can I use a tall photo?

Yes. With Fill the frame, you choose the strip of the photo that shows. With Whole photo, it sits small in the middle, with a blurred, white or black background on the sides.

Is a company page banner the same size?

No. Company pages use another, even wider format. This page makes the personal profile banner; for a company, check the size asked for when editing the page.

Will the banner text be readable on a phone?

It will, if the letters are big and in the center. On a phone the banner looks small: few words, bold letters and good contrast with the background.

Does the image lose quality?

It comes out as a high-quality JPG, already at the size LinkedIn uses. If the image you choose is smaller than the banner, the screen warns you that it will be enlarged and may lose sharpness.

Is the image uploaded to a server?

No. The image is opened, adjusted and saved in your browser, and it never leaves your device. The tool doesn’t access your LinkedIn account.

What about the profile picture?

The photo is square and shows in a circle. Use the LinkedIn profile picture resizer, which makes the photo at 400 × 400.
