How to download Pinterest videos on PC (Windows and Mac)
Updated on October 24, 2026
On a computer, you don’t need to install a program or a browser extension. The site works in Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari, on Windows and on Mac. The file goes to your Downloads folder, like any other browser download, and you don’t need to log in to Pinterest.
Step by step
- Open the Pin on Pinterest. On pinterest.com, click the Pin until it opens on its own page, with the video playing. In the feed or board grid, you’re not on the Pin yet.
- Copy the link. Copy the address from the browser bar with Ctrl+C (Cmd+C on a Mac). The right link has /pin/ and a number. The Pin’s share button also has Copy link.
- Paste it on the site. In another tab, open pegapic.com.br, click Paste (or click the field and press Ctrl+V, or Cmd+V on a Mac), then click Download.
- Pick your file. In the Your files list, click Download video. The resolution and format show under the button. Download audio saves just the sound as MP3.
The first time you click Paste, your browser may ask whether the site can read what you copied. If you’d rather not allow it, paste with the keyboard.
The same steps work for other kinds of Pins. For a photo Pin, the list shows Download image; for an animated Pin, Download GIF. More on the Pinterest image downloader and Pinterest GIF downloader pages.
Where the file goes
- Windows: open File Explorer and click Downloads. In Chrome and Edge, Ctrl+J shows your downloads, with a shortcut to the folder.
- Mac: open Finder and click Downloads, or press Option+Cmd+L.
The file name starts with pinterest- followed by the Pin number, the same one that comes after /pin/ in the link. That way, the video, the audio and the image from the same Pin stay together in the folder.
If your browser asks where to save, it’s set to ask on every download. Pick a folder and click Save.
Opening each file
- Video: it comes as MP4, which opens in the player that comes with Windows and in QuickTime on a Mac. If your computer won’t open it, VLC, which is free, opens almost any format.
- Audio: the MP3 plays in any music player.
- Image: it comes as JPG or PNG, the way Pinterest stores it, and opens in your system’s photo viewer.
- GIF: some viewers only show the first frame. If the GIF looks frozen, drag the file into a browser tab: it animates there.
Right-click or the link
On a computer, you can right-click a Pin’s image and choose Save image as. That usually saves the version shown on screen, which may be smaller than the original. On video Pins, the right-click menu generally doesn’t offer a way to save the video.
With the link, the site fetches the largest version Pinterest stores for that Pin and shows its size before you download. For videos, it’s the largest MP4.
Pinterest asks you to log in
On a computer, Pinterest often asks you to log in after some scrolling. The site doesn’t need your account: it only needs the Pin link. If you don’t want to log in, there are two ways around it:
- copy the link on your phone, with the app’s Share button, and send it to your computer, for example by email or WhatsApp Web;
- use a link someone sent you. The app’s short link, with pin.it, works on a computer too.
Common problems
- The site says the link doesn’t point to a Pin. You copied the address of a board, a profile or a search. Open the Pin before copying. The guide on how to copy a Pin link shows where each button is.
- “The links have expired.” Download links last about 15 minutes. Click Get new links and download right away.
- The download stops halfway. It’s almost always the connection. Try again; if more than 15 minutes have passed, get new links.
- The Pin won’t open on the site. If it only shows up after logging in, it’s on a secret board or from a private account. For other messages, see Pinterest Pin won’t download.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need to install a program or an extension?
No. Everything happens in the browser, and the file downloads like any other.
What quality is the video?
The largest MP4 version Pinterest stores for that Pin, with no conversion or upscaling. The width and height show under the button before you download.
Can I download a whole board?
No. The site works with one Pin at a time. Board links are refused: open each Pin and copy its link.
I want the video on my phone. Should I download it on my PC and move it?
You can, but it’s faster to download straight to your phone. See the guides for iPhone and Android.
Does the site keep a copy of what I download?
No. The file goes straight to your computer, with no copy on our server.
